Whether you want to create and maintain landscapes or produce and nurture plant life the Horticultural Technology program at the Thompson School could be the place for you!
Horticultural Technology has two specializations available to matriculated students:
Landscape Operations and Ornamental Horticulture

Both specilizations will learn:

  • business practices for the Horticultural Industry
  • plant and soil systems at the molecular, organismal and ecosystem levels
  • Pest Management

Landscape Operations:

  • To create, install and maintain Landscapes
  • To develop a foundation in horticulture, landscape design and construction
  • Soils and land use
  • Plant nutrition
  • Horticultural Pruning
  • Landscape Consturction
  • Ground maintenance

Ornamental Horticulture

You'll Learn

  • Plant Development, growth, propagation, identification and care
  • To take crops from seed to sale (fruits and veggies)
  • To use technical know-how and creativity to produce floral crops fro consumers
  • How to manage a horticultural facility
  • Floral Design
  • Bedding plant productions
