Research Project: Comparison of pH and media response from applications of flowable lime.

Greenhouse crops develop problems when media pH falls above or below a set range. Moreover, many growers use a peat-based media that has a natural tendency to be acidic. Due to smaller particle size and the liquid suspension of flowable lime, growers can raise the media pH quickly, as compared with traditional limes, thereby warding off any possible adverse effects to the crop. This project/trial allowed me to gain a better understanding of greenhouse and laboratory research and gave me the chance to apply classroom techniques in a professional setting.
