Research Project: Rooting hormones and rooting response of Perennials.

The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the efficacy of rooting hormones in shortening the propagation phase for perennials that are difficult to root. Two auxin based rooting hormones were used, each at two dilution strengths.

The experiment consisted of five treatments and eighteen different perennial cultivars. Data was collected after fourteen days and two factors were quantified; the number of roots present per plant with ten being the maximum, and the foliar health of each plant.

The root growth and plant health data across the five treatments were then evaluated for variability and overall success of propagation of perennials using rooting hormones when compared with the control treatment.
