Anna and Raymond Tuttle Environmental Horticulture Fund
The Anna and Raymond Tuttle Environmental Horticulture Fund was set up through an extremely generous donation by Mr. Ray Tuttle, a retired landscape professional from Wolfeboro NH, (now deceased). In giving this endowment, Mr. Tuttle aimed to support and promote horticulture in our state through teaching, research, and outreach activities centered around UNH.
This Sustainable Horticulture web site is one of many exciting projects and initiatives being supported through the Fund. Other activities include:
- Research on biological control of greenhouse insects and diseases.
- Research on improving health of greenhouse crops by managing pH of the growing media.
- Development of new flower cultivars, focusing on Anagallis (blue and scarlet pimpernel)
- Greenhouse teaching materials at the four-year Environmental Horticulture program, and the two-year Horticultural Technology degree at the Thompson School of Applied Science.
- Development of horticulture teaching resources for children and young adults ("Growing a Green Generation").
We thank Mr.Tuttle and his family for their generous support, and hope that you enjoy this web site. We are using this web site as one way to publicize new initiatives funded through this endowment.
